VLADIVOSTOK, RUSSIA, Thursday, 26 July 2018 - The Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), First Admiral Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi bin Pg Haji Muhammad arrived here for International Far Eastern Maritime Show in Vladivostok.

At the Pacific Fleet Officers Club , the Commander was greeted and welcomed by Admiral Sergei Avakyants, the Chief of the Pacific Fleet of the Russian Federation.

Both sides shared brief introductions during the Courtesy Call. Admiral Sergei Avakyants mentions that Vladivostok is currently undergoing changes where Russia is trying to make it into the capital of the ‘Far East’ to accommodate the growing importance of their eastern border and also the number of people coming into Vladivostok.

Both sides reiterated mutual commitment to continue to bolster defence ties and to further enhance interactions in areas of mutual interest through various bilateral naval exercises and multilateral platforms with a view to contribute to the peace and stability of the region.
The Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy's visit underscores the commitment of the RBN to enhance relationship further. This is the first official visit by the RBN where it is apparent that the welcoming was a testament to the commitment and dedication, the Russian Pacific Fleet is putting into strengthening ties between the two navy.
A dinner reception was held at the Far Eastern Federal University by the International Far Eastern Maritime Organizers, giving the participants an opportunity to meet each other in a relaxed environment and also meet the guest of honor of the event, Andrey Tarasenko the acting governor of Primorsky Krai; the local province.
