COMMANDER OF THE ROYAL BRUNEI NAVY ATTENDED RUSSIAN NAVY DAY

VLADIVOSTOK, RUSSIA, Sunday, 29 July 2018 – First Admiral Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi bin Pg Haji Muhammad, Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) attended Russian Navy Day in Amur Bay area in the central Vladivostok.


Upon arrival at the pier, Commander of RBN was received by the officers and crew of Russia’s Pacific Fleet. The Commander of RBN was then led to a terrace overseeing the whole show which started with a performance depicting the history of Vladivostok and the founding of the port city performed by local theatre groups, singers, youth organisations and the Pacific Fleet personnel. 

Earlier, the Admiral and Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Pacific Fleet, Admiral Sergei Avalyants inspect ships in formation before giving a speech onboard “VARYAG”. The performances include live simulations of military operations from various branches of the Russian Armed Forces. While the performances were carried out, as a background; in the bay, the Pacific Fleet flagship 'Guards Order of Nakhimov' missile cruiser "Varyag" led the formation followed by a large anti surface ship "Admiral Panteleyev”, the destroyer "Bystry", hospital ship “Irtysh", the Baltic Fleet’s training ship “Perekop". An intelligence vessel “Kurily", a small anti surface ship "Koreyets”, a R-79 missile boat, a BT-256 harbour minesweeper and a project 877 Kilo class diesel submarine. 

In the evening, the Commander of RBN was given a tour around the bay onboard the Admiral's Ship and sail passed ships taking part in the celebration earlier today.
