COMMANDER ROYAL BRUNEI NAVY INTRODUCTORY VISIT TO THE REPUBLIC OF SINGAPORE

REPUBLIC OF SINGAPORE, Friday, 17 May 2019 – The Commander of Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), First Admiral Haji Othman bin Haji Suhaili @ Suhaily made an introductory visit to the Republic of Singapore from 16 to 17 May 2019.

Upon arrival at the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Singapore, the RBN Commander was welcomed by Rear Admiral Lew Chuen Hong, Chief of Navy Republic of Singapore, and proceeded to inspect the Guard of Honour, comprising of personnel from the Singapore Armed Forces.

RBN Commander called on Dr. Ng Eng Hen, the Minister for Defence of Singapore, Lieutenant General Melvyn Ong, the Chief of Defence Force at the Ministry of Defence, and followed by a courtesy call to Rear Admiral Lew Chuen Hong, Chief of Navy Republic of Singapore. During the calls, both sides commended the special friendship which goes beyond 40 years shared with one another, acknowledging the long history of friendship built on trust, interoperability, training and cooperation that reaffirmed the long-standing bilateral defense cooperation between both countries.

As part of the visit, RBN Commander visited RSS FORMIDABLE at Changi Naval Base. The introductory visit by RBN Commander highlights the continuous commitment to strengthen the longstanding relationship and strong defense cooperation between the RBN and RSN through regular exchange of visits, frequent interactions, professional exchanges, bilateral and multilateral exercises, trainings and courses.
